Overview

Autism

Knowing someone or a family member with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or dealing with it yourself, can be very lonely. Add that ASD presents in unique and different ways, and you also have a high chance of being misunderstood. However, ASD does not have to prevent you from living life. Working with families to learn techniques toward real functional change and behavioral improvements is what we do at LSW Psychological Services.

Sports Psychology

If 'Being in the Zone,' non-chemical performance enhancement, faster injury recovery, anxiety reduction, and team building cohesion appeals to you, you must be a serious competitor! At LSW Psychological Services, we provide the Sports Psychology services that can elevate your natural talent as an athlete or professional. Also designed to enhance your skills, strengthen your race day or game day performance, and assist you in achieving your goals. This is done by sharpening your mental edge in order to give you a step up on the competition.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

At LSW Psychological Services, we provide a number of individual and group psychotherapy services. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an invaluable method to help people learn and use new skills and strategies to develop a life that they experience as worth living. DBT, a cognitive behavioral treatment promotes mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. (Developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD, ABPP)

Evaluations / Assessments

Participating in a comprehensive psychological evaluation at LSW Psychological Services can give you meaningful answers about an individual's unique intellectual, academic, personality, and emotional functioning. By using a specialized set of assessment procedures that caters to an individual's specific needs, we are able to obtain diagnostic clarification that allows us to provide customized recommendations to improve chances of future success.

Behavioral Issues

Parents have the most challenging job…raising children. But what do you do if everything you try appears to fail? You turn to the team at LSW Psychological Services. Together, we find ways to overcome tantrums, battle defiance, defend against oppositional behavior, and attack stubbornness. We can also redirect inattention, sharpen focus, bolster pro-social skills, and teach tools needed to thrive. And we do it all while using your strengths. Together we work toward overcoming obstacles to promote well-being.

Post-Accident Trauma Counseling

Have you experienced a trauma or accident? Are you having trouble sleeping? Do you constantly fear returning to the scene or being in a similar situation? Is your anxiety getting in the way of you living your life? If your answer to these questions is 'yes' then you may benefit from post-accident trauma counseling. Whether from a car accident or other life trauma, you deserve relief. We at LSW Psychological Services can help you control your fear responses, strengthen your coping skills, and get your life back.
